What is Teen Dating Violence:

Any physical, emotional, or psychological abuse such as name-calling, yelling, threats, any acts of violence against the person you are dating currently or previously. Abusers use words to gain power and control over their victim, often damaging their self-esteem and emotional health.

Seeking Help:
​
* Seek HELP…there is no shame in asking for help.
* Talk with someone you trust that can encourage you (Parents, Counselor’s, Teachers)
* End the relationship ASAP…NOW!!
* Never think it’s your fault
* Don’t hide it from your friends and/or family members
* Take it seriously when it happens
* Love is NOT abuse
* No more excuse’s
* You do matter; so speak out
* Love should NEVER hurt
* You are not his/her property
* Love IS respect
* Make the first act of abuse the last
